Former Press Secretary Robert Gibbs appeared on Morning Joe today to provide some commentary on tonight’s State of the Union address. Gibbs first mentioned how thankful he is that he no longer works in this White House, but then went on to answer some of the host’s questions.
Willie Giest asked Gibbs about how he saw the Obama administration’s efforts to make some major changes it said it would make throughout the President’s term. In response, Gibbs stated, “Well, I think, you know, the ability to change Washington, I think, is something that long ago the White House sort of stopped trying to do and whether or not that’s a good thing, we will look back on history.”
What happened to the President’s promise to fix Washington? If Mr. Gibbs is correct in his statement, Mr. Obama really had no intention of following through in one of his main campaign promises. It will be interesting to see how President Obama will try to cover up his other campaign lies tonight. 5 years in and what can be said for this president?
