Show business is a lefty paradise, so myopically liberal that these apostles of tolerance see nothing ironic about a Latina actress, Maria Conchita Alonso, being bullied simply for having supported a non-liberal, Tea Party candidate.
Hollywood is full of left-wing activist groups -- Norman Lear's People for the American Way, a 501(c)(3), being the prime example. There are a couple tiny, modest little counterparts on the right, where for the most part, participants keep quiet for fear of getting the same treatment as Maria Conchita Alonso.
But in this era of IRS harassment of groups ideologically dissimilar to the President, perhaps it's no surprise that one of these little right-leaning groups, Friends of Abe, has been targeted by the IRS. Among other things, the IRS has been trying to get access to a list of its members -- an effective chilling technique when people's livelihoods can be threatened once it's known they don't run with the liberal pack.
Keep in mind that the Holder Justice Department finds nothing worthy of prosecution in the entire IRS targeting scandal (a conclusion easier to reach if no real investigation is ever performed).
If Republicans hold the House and keep the Senate next year, there ought to be a bi-cameral Select Committee to get to the bottom of the IRS abuse. America isn't America anymore when people can be harassed and targeted simply for daring to dissent from the ruler's ideology.
