Earlier this morning, Texas Senator Ted Cruz held a spontaneous Twitter town hall in celebration of Constitution Day. The former Solicitor General and leading defender of the Constitution fielded several questions from his followers ranging from today’s threats to constitutional principles to his favorite amendment.
.@NCCoastalRltr True & very sad. Undermining rule of law is dangerous. He should be held accountable; will require Congress & the Am people.

.@breeannehowe Both are important. Am glad POTUS submitted to the constl authority of Congress on Syria. But, we also must stop Obamacare.

.@nicolejpearce If Congress continues to disregard the Am people, the possibility grows more and more. Congress should return to the Const.

.@DebraPianalto It's lawless, and dangerous. But Harry Reid is POTUS's most important protector; he prevents the Senate from stopping abuse.

.@Amanda_NYY Yes, if we keep down this path. That's why it's so critical for the Am people to stand up & hold elected officials accountable.

.@jdgaby Great Q. Speak the truth. Hold power accountable. And communicate w those not focused on the importance of liberty & the Const.

.@nataliejohnsonn 1: defund now. 2: expand choice in healthcare, empower citizens, allow interstate purchase. Will produce state competition

.@LaurenC_Lux Tough. Love 2A. Wrote my senior thesis on 9A & 10A. But 1A is foundational. Speech, press, religious freedom--key to all else.
— Senator Ted Cruz (@SenTedCruz) September 17, 2013
.@kasie Yes. SCOTUS right that it exceeds Commerce Cl. But they rewrote the law to call it a "tax," when Congress & POTUS said it was not.

@Gabby_Hoffman@SenTedCruz so true! My conservative son has been conditioned to keep his beliefs to himself in class for fear of retaliation
— Beanie (@LilBeanieTweets) September 17, 2013
.@LilBeanieTweets@Gabby_Hoffman It's a real problem. But it makes conservatives stronger to understand other side & learn to argue civilly.
