BREAKING: William and Kate Have a Baby Boy

UPDATE:Father of William, Prince Charles, has released the following statement:

Both my wife and I are overjoyed at the arrival of my first grandchild. It is an incredibly special moment for William and Catherine and we are so thrilled for them on the birth of their baby boy.

Grandparenthood is a unique moment in anyone’s life, as countless kind people have told me in recent months, so I am enormously proud and happy to be a grandfather for the first time and we are eagerly looking forward to seeing the baby in the near future.

Across the pond we officially have a new royal. The Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton has officially given birth to a new heir to the throne. Born at 4:24 pm, 11:24 am EST, the baby boy was just announced at 3:30 EST. The baby boy was 8 lbs. 6 oz. and we are still awaiting the name of the newborn.

According to the Royal Palace, Prince William was present for the birth; mom and baby are doing well and they will remain in the hospital overnight. The royal birth announcement is now currently en route to Buckingham Palace, where the Queen will be informed of the birth. The announcement with then be displayed on an easel in front of the Palace.
