Where Were These 230 Doctors Wanting Medical Records Four Years Ago?

Donald Trump is no spring chicken.

At 78 years old, he's definitely on the downhill slide, to be sure. Don't get me wrong, he seems particularly spry for his age and considering how he reacted to being shot, I'd say he's tough as nails. But he's also old.

In fact, he's roughly the same age Joe Biden was when he became president.

This is why I find the fact that 230 physicians, nurses, and "health care professionals" want Trump's medical records.

More than 230 doctors, nurses and health care professionals, most of whom are backing Vice President Kamala Harris, are calling on former President Donald Trump to release his medical records, arguing that he should be transparent about his health "given his advancing age."

"Trump is falling concerningly short of any standard of fitness for office and displaying alarming characteristics of declining acuity," the 238 signatories wrote in a letter dated Oct. 13 and first obtained by CBS News. "In the limited opportunities we can examine his behavior, he's providing a deeply concerning snapshot."

The letter was organized by the group "Doctors for Harris," which is unaffiliated with Harris' campaign. The doctors and nurses note that presidential candidates have traditionally disclosed their medical records, including Arizona Sen. John McCain, who did so during his 2008 presidential campaign. In his 2020 race against President Biden, Trump released results of his physical in the June before Election Day.

The letter noted that absent detailed health records, "we are left to extrapolate from public appearances."

Of course, I can't help but wonder where all these concerns were four years ago.

I mean, there were concerns about Biden's age from the get-go. People were worried and Sleepy Joe wasn't exactly spry by any stretch of the imagination. These folks didn't seem to think anything about it at the time.

Now, though? Now, suddenly it all matters. Suddenly, Trump's "advancing age" and whatever they can manufacture out of his public appearances are more than enough to concern themselves with.

Biden's rambling answers to questions weren't a thing. His inability to navigate the challenging obstacle course most of us call "stairs" was nothing of concern. The fact that he made the Crypt-Keeper look young and vibrant was nothing to worry about.

No, the fact that this is Trump makes it different.

I know that these 230 doctors don't mean anything. There are thousands of physicians in the United States, most of whom had nothing to do with this letter. There are tens of thousands more nurses throughout the nation as well. This isn't even one percent of the totality of people in that profession, and this small sliver of them is so blatantly pro-Harris that they even have it in their name.

They're not even being sly about it.

But I'm riled up about it because we all know why Biden isn't the candidate. We all know that there are signs of cognitive decline that were there four years ago and literally none of these self-appointed concerned citizens thought anything of it.

They're blatant hypocrites and deserve to be run out of their profession for it.
