On July 18th, President Donald Trump announced his third indictment charge of the past six months, as he stated that Jack Smith and Merrick Garland's Department of Justice would be arresting him for the January 6th protests in 2021. While Trump consistently called for peace and non-violence during the events of January 6th, Democrats, the Republican establishment, and the authoritarian bureaucracy of Washington D.C. has continued to lay the blame at the feet of the former President for two years after the fact. Unfortunately, that persistence of blame has resulted in what is likely our justice system's most authoritarian targeting of a political figure ever in American history.
The GOP has changed more in the last seven years than arguably any other time in our party's history and for a good reason. The Republican Party has embraced populism, nationalism, and pragmatism like no other political figure has in the past fifty years of American political culture. Only one man is responsible for the tables turning and our ideology shifting towards a more appealing nature to be anti-war, anti-deep state, and anti-elitist, and that's Donald Trump.
Americans knew he was different from the moment that Trump blamed the United States' decision to go into Iraq and fight a proxy war based on lies from then-President George W. Bush. Watching Trump fight on the debate stage with career politicians to defeat the ultimate establishment figure eventually, Hillary Clinton, impacted my view of politics more than any other person in the history of our country. An outsider who knew how to communicate to the average man to an extent no one had ever witnessed, Trump helped change our party's approach to politics for good.
His actual presidency was even better. Trump's nonconformity to the norms of Washington D.C., and Republicanism in general, helped him formulate a legacy as one of the greatest American presidents of all time. The advocacy for peace in foreign relations through intimidating diplomacy with countries such as Germany, France, Russia, and even North Korea set a precedent that all Republicans should model their ideologies after. For the first time in the twenty-first century, no war was started because they were intimidated by the Commander-in-Chief.
Trump had an astounding tenure in establishing jobs, opportunity, and prosperity in the American economy, with the unemployment rate reaching 3.5 percent and the Dow Jones Industrial Average trading at 30,000. Americans were as satisfied with how the country was going for their pocketbooks than at nearly any tenure of the last twenty-five years. They must include his approach to the United States economy as they suffer from Bidenomics.
All this could be thrown out the window, and I would still want Donald Trump to be the forty-seventh President of the United States. It seems as if Democrats, progressives, and moderate Republicans want the American people to think that because the DOJ, FBI, and CIA are against Trump, we should also be. Meanwhile, Americans think this is one of history's most weaponized usages of governmental power.
For Republicans like myself, I have found more reasons to support Trump than ever due to how much Washington fears him. The argument of electability is gone because the Biden Administration and their establishment cronies are working their hardest to get him out of consideration as President. They would not be working so diligently to ruin him if he were not favored to win if he reached the general election stage.
This, more than any other reason, is why I support Trump more than ever. Suppose the establishment fears him so much that they are cherry-picking nonsensical charges to imprison him to keep him out of the Oval Office. In that case, the American people will be given a voice over the elite if Trump wins.
When Donald Trump wins the Republican 2024 presidential nomination, the American public will witness the most anti-establishment campaign in the United States' political history that will fight the elitists in government, corporations, and mainstream media at all levels.
As Republicans and Americans, we must give the establishment precisely what they deserve. They have unjustly targeted everyday Americans for far too long in ways only dictatorial governments have done to their people.
We need to elect Donald Trump to fight as meaningful a battle as we have seen in our lifetimes because it is what Washington deserves.
