While things may appear bleak at the moment, there are many signs of impending failure in the left's agenda.
With so much swirling around us that is steeped in the negative and the media supporting items in our policies that run counter to our best interests, it could seem as if there is a reason to feel frustrated or worse. In truth, there is a massive struggle taking place on the left, and they are revealing this in pieces if we look in the right places. Their insistence is not our reality.
The obvious place to start is the White House and the rather blatant disaster that is the Joe Biden administration being sold as something else entirely. The press is spackling over major holes and dressing up the facade on a condemned dwelling, pretending not to notice. The way that those standing in opposition to the agenda are demonized is a tell. Look at the treatment of Senator Joe Manchin, for example.
Manchin is said to be representing a threat to our democracy because that is the go-to charge for anything the press disagrees with these days. But his supposed crime is that he is not blindly obeying party leadership, instead choosing to actually represent his constituents – the very practice that defines our governance. Mother Jones just put out a hysterical piece, claiming "The Whole World Is Hating on Joe Manchin." This is desperation on the hoof. Manchin is sitting on approval numbers that show he is doing his job for his people.

Another area where the leftist/statist/totalitarian desire is floundering is in matters of schooling. We have seen the battle over Critical Race Theory become a siege, and the very fact that parents who desire a say in what is taught to their kids are branded as domestic terrorists is the tell. The temerity of people who want more control than the government has brought out desperation. And the left cannot even keep its outrage straight.

The current trend is to mock these parents as book burners for wanting particular titles removed from curriculums. That these portray overt sexualizations and condemn certain students by race is inconsequential to the journalists; they are demonized for wanting books banned. Yet, this same press industry was just fine with Dr. Seuss being yanked from schools and taken down from sales sites. The Laura Ingalls Wilder classic "Little House on the Praire" was canceled, and the press only applauded.
It exposes the hypocrisy when we look at the most recent example. CNN's Jake Tapper promoted another book being pulled, "To Kill a Mockingbird," and was dismissive over the move. The amusement was that Jake failed to even follow the news story he provided. This was not a case of hysterical white parents being made uncomfortable. It was the polar opposite.
Maus has taught countless young people about the Holocaust through its depiction of what the author's father, a survivor, experienced.

Censoring school curriculum and banning books can't "protect" anyone from history, it only limits access to knowledge and understanding. https://t.co/AZsoXSUbZ6
In another example of how conservative values can prevail in this era of hysteria, RedState's Jeff Charles showed another book controversy that actually wasn't. When a school board pulled the work "Maus," it was accused of being done to deny the Holocaust, when in truth, they replaced it with age-appropriate works on the topic. The need to lie about this story shows they are not rooted in truth, becoming desperate to the point of resorting to this base level of prevaricating.
In Canada, there is no better way of displaying how the statists are losing traction than the appearance of tens of thousands of truckers riding into the capital to oppose the restrictive COVID mandates. The leader of the country, Emperor Yellowspine, has fled the scene, claiming that he has tested positive and needs to quarantine safely. That his testing positive undercuts the claims of his mandates is a barely noted detail.
The press in Canada is no less compliant to the authoritarians. They have descended into the desperate realm we saw ahead of our election. The claim that the truckers are being backed by Russian interests shows how much they are scrambling in the face of opposition. There is no basis to this, as we saw in the days of Hunter Biden's laptop. There is no proof offered of this, and no proof is needed. They are the press, and facts are not a required element in their reporting.
The CBC suggests "Russian actors" are behind the #TruckersForFreedom convoy. Seriously. #cdnpoli pic.twitter.com/a6sQyWtKkx

The revealing detail is that the people upset at this caravan are the same who continually tout the government protocols. With apologies to RedState cartoonist Jim Thompson, the sketcher at The Washington Post offered up his hot take image of the convoy heading to Ottowa.

When they resort to calling workers fighting for liberty and free markets "fascists," you see the vacancy of so much behind the insistence in the press. This same charge has been leveled at Florida Governor Ron DeSantis for wanting to give people a choice regarding vaccines and at Virginia Governor Glenn Youngkin for giving parents options over matters regarding their kids. Those in support of a controlling government complex idiotically call those promoting freedom to be the oppressors.
We need not worry about such weak-minded desperation and empty-will efforts. They are being exposed, and their impotent agendas are not being accepted. We need only keep at the effort, promoting the facts and exposing the hollow nature of the claims. It is working, and they are failing.
Editor’s Note: A source with knowledge from inside CNN informs us that this entry carries some misinformation. They have confirmed to Townhall that despite the use of "again" in his tweet, Mr. Tapper was not conflating this book incident with those of previous CRT book removal efforts. In addition, as a response to the question asked Mr. Tapper did, in fact, watch the video in the link he supplied. We wanted to correct the record to show these details.
