Look at England.
Self defense is all but illegal. "Call the Constable, lad. He'll file a report." Guns are rare, but violent crime is rampant.
Everyone depends on the government for health care. With that worry "removed," they think it works. Except for the sick and dying waiting in long lines or thirsting to death in their unchecked beds.
We're just a decade or three behind, but on the same path.
America, America, God shed clear sight on thee. And crown thy past, with, at long last, a future that is free.
Detroit. DC. Philly. Chicago. Et. al.
Why, exactly, do limited government conservatives have to convince minorities we don't hate them, when the liberal policies minorities cling to are literally killing, imprisoning, and impoverishing them, generation by generation...?
Media bias that distorts reality, that's why.
When I was 10, my dad and I hiked into a canyon to shoot targets with the rifle we carried in for that purpose. We took pictures.
Apparently those pictures today, if posted on a social network, might draw a visit from the authorities, a warrantless demand to unlock the safe and see the guns in the home, and a threat the state might seize our children if I defy the lawless order.
It's getting ugly. Something's gonna blow.
High stakes school testing kills learning? It all depends on the test. If it's well designed and probes important knowledge, then teachers should "teach to the test."
The alternative to not tracking learning by testing is not having a clue whether we're teaching. How has that been working ouy.

Technology/data enables science to tailor a cancer cure to the genes of a single patient. It lets marketers tell you what you want before you know you want it. It increases crop yields, saving billions from hunger.
It can, if we allow it, let government monitor our moves, predict them, and try to manipulate them. Can we be free if government utilizes technology to the fullest?
Can government do its job in a digital world if it doesn't? What are discernible limits? How can citizens impose them?
There are odd swirling white puffs in the air just now.
If they persist, it will be a cue for the post-modern media to command post-modern Americans to FREAK OUT!! MAYHEM!! WHAT IS THIS SLIPPERY STUFF FROM THE SKY??!!
Liberty folk need some non-ideological arguments rooted in common sense to reach citizens who don't like politics and think in practical terms. For example...
"Schools cost twice as much per pupil as they used to--yes, adjusted for inflation! But they're teaching less than they used to. Maybe our schools need fixing more than they need more tax dollars?"
"The Colorado legislature has added 30% to our utility bill in recent years with a lot of extreme green mandates. That's hundreds of dollars a year for every struggling household! For what?! Did it make our air cleaner? We all feel the pain, but where's the gain?"
"Politicians like to talk about 'creating jobs' but its always about their press conferences, fancy announcements, and handing out tax dollars to their crony buddies. Can't business take care of itself?
"Maybe we'd be better off if they'd shut up and get out of the way, instead of trying to lead the parade."
What are your suggestions for other arguments?
Dinner. Just sloshed some milk on the floor. Samson responded to the clean up.
Man's best friend for sure.
