With the New Hampshire debate behind them, the Republican candidates for president begin the summer political season with several challenges facing them.

They must raise money, build their state-by-state organizations and develop more detailed policy positions as they begin to define the differences among them.

The lesser-known candidates, like Tim Pawlenty, the former governor of Minnesota, are eager to raise their national profiles, while the front-runner Mitt Romney, former governor of Massachusetts, is already looking to the fall election.
