An IBOPE Zogby poll indicates that voters increasingly see both Republicans and Democrats as “out-of-touch” with the citizens they’re supposed to represent.

A survey of 2,225 likely voters found that 45 percent of them associate the phrase “out-of-touch” with Democrats. But that almost precisely mirrored the 46 percent who felt the phrase also applied to Republicans.

The results suggest that a near majority of voters believes that neither party accurately represents them.

Democrats, according to the survey, are seen as more moderate and reasonable than Republicans, and also more representative of the middle class. But voters also say they see Democrats as weak and fiscally irresponsible.
