Yesterday, Fox Business’ Maria Bartiromo left the network. The Mornings with Maria host was booted and given a brief statement from the network. Bartiromo was with the network for over 12 years. Dylan Byers at Puck had the initial details:

We later learned that Bartiromo was planning on covering President Trump's July presser on election interference, where she had booked Peter Navarro as a guest. Fox executives balked at the idea, adding their on-air talent was already listed in lawsuits over the subject, namely the legal bout with Dominion. They deep-sixed their coverage, but Bartiromo took this as a censorship move, informed Navarro, who later admitted to forwarding it to Trump White House officials who later called the network. She had sent Navarro screenshots of her messages with Fox brass. The White House calling  Ms. Bartiromo's employer pretty much outed her as the source.

Corproate brass rightly felt this was a fireable offense: the disclosure of privileged internal communications. But they allowed her to air throughout the rest of the summer before pulling the plug in August. 

Bartiromo signed an extension with the network last February. She was pulled from the air on August 9, and her final show aired September 3.

The story took a weird turn when Ambassador Mike Huckabee referred to Bartiromo as “him/her.”
