Former ESPN anchor Sage Steele lashed out at Democrats condemning her for her political views, especially former NBA coach Doc Rivers.

During an interview on The Rubin Report, Steele didn’t mince words. “I would say just knowing that they're, so many of them are full of s**t,” she said. “With what they say versus what they do. And seeing the passive aggressiveness from some of these head coaches, whether it's Steve Kerr or Doc Rivers, these people that I, you know, especially Doc used to call a friend, et cetera.”

She explained how Rivers sent her nasty messages criticizing her for espousing conservative beliefs.

“I mean, pages and pages of why I'm such an idiot to be a Republican or conservative and support Donald Trump,” she said. “I mean, outta the blue, he would send me clips on, and I'm like, ‘I just wanna talk basketball with you.’ Or like, ‘how are your kids? You have grandkids now.’

Steele suggested that athletes who are not Democrats “are put in very difficult positions because if they speak up to someone like a Doc Rivers, or … how Steve Kerr handles that in his locker room.”

Rivers has been an avid critic of the Trump administration. He referred to a fatal shooting of Renee Good by an ICE agent “straight-up murder.”

“This lady was probably trying to go home, and she didn’t make it home and that’s really sad,” he said.

This is what happens when politics becomes so steeped in the culture that it can’t be separated from anything else. One can’t even talk about sports without people focusing on their political beliefs.
