While Democrats continue thwarting the will of American voters, the majority of whom support voter ID, they should all be made to watch this video from 2005, featuring former President Jimmy Carter's thoughts on the issue. It proves that voter ID was once a bipartisan issue.

"Also have some form of photo ID required, voter ID," Carter said. "And eight other states are considering it. So the second reason is to make a uniform recommendation in our country through this report that we've issued so there is not highly discriminatory laws passed by one party or another."

"And the third reason is that we put in some very careful constraints to prevent abuse. For instance, these photo ID cards will be free. Second, there will be a wide distribution of them. The states will be required to go around the state to issue these photo ID cards to as many people as possible, which would be a good system just for recruiting new voters. This would be very important," he continued.

"And this will be, I think, a move forward in getting more people to vote; it will not restrict people from voting; it will be uniformly applied throughout the country, and it will be non-discriminatory," Carter added.

Of course, the verification of citizenship, as outlined in the SAVE America Act, is another necessary component of Voter ID. But Carter said, and Democrats believed, requiring IDs would not bar people from voting.

The entire animus against voter ID is because Republicans, including President Trump, support it. 

That's another reason why Democrats oppose it, and they want to game the loopholes in the system to get votes and win elections.
