Steny Hoyer: Pelosi Ripped Up Trump's Speech Because It Was Divisive...or Something

House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer made an attempt to conduct damage control last night after Speaker Nancy Pelosi ripped up President Donald Trump's State of the Union Address.

Hoyer was pelted with questions from reporters about Pelosi's decision. He responded by calling it a distraction, but then justified it by saying the speech was "divisive."

"That seems to be the focus. Lets hope we didn't distract you from the lack of factual accuracy in the speech, the divisiveness in the speech and the blatant appeal to his base and very similar to the speeches in his rallies," Hoyer said.

The White House responded to Pelosi's petty move by pointing out what President Trump's speech was actually about.
