Obama Embracing McCain's Proposed Fiscal Policy?

The news media today are reporting that President Obama will announce plans for a three-year spending freeze on part of the budget--an idea Senator and then-Republican presidential candidate John McCain pushed for during the summer and fall of 2008.  During the campaign, however, then-Senator Obama

repeatedly dismissed  McCain's "hatchet" spending freeze, opting for what he called a "scalpel" technique to "make sure that everybody is willing to make a few sacrifices." 

Yet another example of Obama learning on the job...?
