In an article entitled "Conservatives Draw Blood From Acorn, Favored Foe," the NYTimes stoops to new lows, claiming the ongoing undercover investigation of ACORN was just the "latest scalp claimed by those on the right who have made no secret of their hope to weaken the Obama administration by attacking allies and appointees they view as leftist."
Aw, poor wittle Obama administwation--always under attack from us redneck, racist crazies who could care less about the future of this country because we're so hell-bent on getting our new African-American president in trouble.
Sure the man surrounds himself with self-proclaimed radicals, but those are just appointees WE "view as leftist," not the NYTimes! And forget the outstanding criminal charges of voter fraud in multiple states against ACORN --those are just "transgressions" we in the vast right-wing conspiracy are accusing them of, not things they might actually be guilty of!
The Times goes on to scold conservatives for the downfall of now-former green jobs czar Van Jones:
Silly us! Why would we ever "dig up" audio and video clips of someone with direct access to the President of the United States? And if it turns out that person's own words were ridiculously crazy, well why would youConservatives believe that they have hit upon a winning formula for such attacks: mobilizing people to dig up dirt, trumpeting it on talk radio and television, prompting Congress to weigh in and demanding action from the Obama administration.

Nevermind the fact that the "mainstream" media didn't flinch when serious allegations were being floated around that could easily be confirmed by a quick Google search; no, it was just easier for them to ignore the Van Jones story altogether.
It's bad enough that NBC's Norah O'Donnell suggested the undercover ACORN investigation could be compared to entrapment in a criminal case--a hilarious accusation coming from the network that has banked on "To Catch a Predator," a show dedicated to busting perverts through hidden-camera undercover scheming. I suppose all those scumbag pedophiles busted on the show should be forgiven for falling victim to NBC's ruthless "entrapment" scheme...? Yeah, right.
The Times article also notes ACORN's response:
Hm, something seems to be missing from this list. Oh, yeah.In a statement over the weekend, Bertha Lewis, the chief organizer for Acorn, said the bogus prostitute and pimp had spent months visiting numerous Acorn offices, including those in San Diego, Los Angeles, Miami and Philadelphia, before getting the responses they were looking for.

I used to think the media had a bit of a natural bias. These days it's quickly becoming apparent that their lack of professionalism and dedication to their true profession may be quite purposeful.
It's pathetic that because the Times and others in the media don't do their job, a young filmmaker and a young aspiring journalist are forced to take it upon themselves to defend the American taxpayers from this kind of corruption, let alone now have to face heinous accusations from the media about exposing the truth through effective reporting.
And if the Times and other "mainstream" media outlets are going to continue this kind of amateur shoddy "journalism," all I have to say to them is beware of the "Boogeyman."
