While Nation Watches Soto Confirmation Hearings, Obama Keeps His Eye on the Prize

President Obama returned to the White House following his week-long overseas trip ready to pick-up where he left off: the ongoing health care debate.  The president seemed to return from his trip with a renewed determination for pushing through his health care overhaul and warned critics, "Don't be against us."

I just want to put everybody on notice, because there was a lot of chatter during the week that I was gone.  We are going to get this done. Inaction is not an option. For those naysayers, cynics who think that this is not going to happen: Don’t bet against us, we are going to make this thing happen because the American people desperately need it.
The president has stressed to lawmakers he wishes to have the House and Senate agree on a health care plan before they break for the August recess.  A senior White House official, speaking on the condition of anonymity, reported to the NYTimes:
Mr. Obama’s message to the lawmakers will be that while he ‘’understands that it’s really tough,’’ he still believes that it is essential for Congress to stick to his timeline.
