Where The Hell Have You Been, Lady? Pelosi's Remarks On The Economy Aren't Grounded In Reality

Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) could be talking the way out of a 2018 midterm win. It’s still possible, however.  A lot of indicators have shifted away from the Democrats in that endeavor. The generic ballot advantage Democrats enjoyed has been chipped away. The messaging is off. They’re now fighting the same losing battles with Trump, like defending trashing the American flag and the national anthem, with the most recent giving cover to MS-13 gang members as folks…who aren’t so bad. Sorry, no—they’re garbage human beings who are thugs, rapists, and murderers, devoid of any humanity. They deserve to be treated as such. Lock ‘em up and throw away the key. Dehumanization of a cancerous and dangerous criminal element in our society is not a bad thing; it’s a necessity. Pelosi did step on a rake defending MS-13, but we’re going to talk about how she is absolutely divorced from reality on the issue of the economy.

The May jobs report was stellar, with 223,000 jobs created. It was solid. That is a fact. But Pelosi decided to take the position that they were worthless. Oh, and unemployment reached an 18-year low; black unemployment reached historic lows as well.

“Hip hip hooray, unemployment is down. What does that mean to me and my life? I need a bigger paycheck,” she said on Thursday.

“This isn’t just about the unemployment rate. It’s about wages rising in our country, so that consumer confidence is restored,” she added.

Where the hell have you been, lady? You can’t polish a turd, and this talking point is just that; it’s straight trash. Paychecks are getting bigger. Wages increased by 2.7 percent.Three million jobs have been created since Donald Trump was elected. Over three million workers are receiving an average $1,000 in bonuses from over 250 companiesthat are also benefitting from Trump’s tax reform package. Consumer confidence is in question? Again, who is on your staff and where are they getting their information? They should all be fired for making you look like an utter fool. I know, for Democrats, that’s a default position, but this is extraordinary. It’s totally divorced from reality. For months, small businessand consumer confidencelevels have reached record highs; consumer confidence reached its highest levels in over a decade.

Democrats tried to say this tax reform that laid down the foundation for our current economic boom was corporate robbery. They said it was unpatriotic.  They said it was the worst bill to ever come before the U.S. Congress. Then, people started to see results. The pervasive good economic news cannot be ignored or spun away. So, now, the Left is just lying. It’s all they have left in the arsenal. This bill is a pro-middle and working class bill—and every Democrat voted against it. I could see why they’re nervous. Since December of 2017, when the bill was passed and signed, its approval has been rising. It’s not the albatross around the GOP’s neck.

With no bad economic news, the Democrats only have their anti-Trump hatred to fall back on for the midterms. That’s not exactly a winning recipe, as we’ve seen this behavior go way off the rails. On a side note, rooting against the American worker in order to win an election is, well—your Democratic Party. We had to bulldoze them to get this economy jump-started. We shouldn’t be afraid to do so again to keep our economy growing.
