More 'Angry Estrogen' on Islam

The "angry estrogen crowd"-- that's what one of my commenters called women like Oriana Fallaci and Brigitte Gabriel in the comments to my post about Gabriel last week.

You think maybe estrogen has more than a few reasons to be angry these days?

Here's what I found in just one page of Google News search results for "sharia:"

SICS Sharia law enforcers also arrested a karate instructor and six female students at a training facility in Mogadishu, alleging they had violated Koranic precepts on the mixing of the sexes and dress, officials said.

"The detainees were involved in un-Islamic behaviour," said Sheikh Kadar Abdirahman Keyse, who runs the Islamic court in the capital's southern Hamarweine district.

The Netherlands:

Dutch Justice Minister Piet Hein Donner has provoked an angry response by stating it has to be possible for Sharia Law to be introduced in the Netherlands via democratic means...

Muslims, he said, just like Protestants and Roman Catholics, have a right to the perceptions of their religion, even if that included dissenting rules of behaviour such as imams refusing to shake hands with women.

So, here's some more "angry estrogen," from Wafa Sultan of Syria. Ain't nothin' wrong with angry estrogen when the anger is righteous. Watch the whole thing. Her message is brave and even encouraging. I dare say it's exactly what Islam needs more of.

Just look at America-- tons of angry estrogen, virtually no honor killings. Sounds like a good formula to me.
