Cutter: Women Aren't Concerned About the Past Four Years

Obama for America Deputy Campaign Manager Stephanie Cutter told NPR women aren't concerned about what has happened in the past four years but with the future. Nothing to see here ladies, move along.

“That’s the other thing that you find most often with women. They’re not really concerned about what’s happened over the last four years, they really want to know what’s going to happen in the next four years.”

Why should women be concerned about the past four years? For a couple of reasons.

-unemployment is still very high

-because unemployment is high, their kids are moving back into their houses because they can't find a job

-Obama's White House pays women less than men

-Obama's policies have sent more women into poverty in the past four years

Women who overwhelmingly voted for Obama in 2008 were concerned about the future too, which is now the past four years and Obama has nothing to show for it. Not to mention, considering Cutter worked under Ted Kennedy and Bill Clinton, she probably isn't the best person to preach about what women are concerned about.

Andrea Saul of the Romney campaign released a statement in response.

“It is highly offensive that the Obama campaign believes women either haven’t noticed or aren’t smart enough to care about how devastating President Obama’s failed economic policies have been for us. On President Obama’s watch, women have lost 419,000 jobs, our poverty rate is the highest it’s been in 17 years, and we shoulder $16,000 more in national debt as a result of his misguided economic policies. Worse still, all we can expect from President Obama’s second term is more of the same. Clearly, women can’t afford another four years like the last four years.”
