Ann Romney to Head "Women For Mitt" Coalition

Months ago many speculated Ann Romney was Mitt Romney's best kept secret on the campaign trail. Because of this, I predicted she would be viciously attacked by the left as a result and of course, she was. Whether it was the DNC going after her horse, Democratic strategist Hilary Rosen claiming Mrs. Romney had "never worked a day in her life," or smarmy MSNBC host Lawrence O'Donnell making fun of her struggle with multiple sclerosis, they got ugly (because that's who they are) and it's only bound to get worse. Today the Romney campaign announced Mrs. Romney will head up the new "Women For Mitt Coalition."

“I’m honored to have these strong and talented women on my team and am humbled by their support,” said Mitt Romney. “Across the country, people are struggling as a result of President Obama’s poor stewardship over our economy. I’m grateful to these women for joining me in my campaign to replace this administration’s failed policies with a pro-growth vision for our extraordinary nation.”

“I’m proud to be heading up this effort to reach out to women voters,” said Women for Mitt National Chairwoman Ann Romney. “There is no doubt that women will play a critical role in determining the outcome of this election, and that’s something Mitt understands well. He also knows how to turn around this economy so that it will better serve the interests of women and families across America.”

The Romney campaign also has a long list of heavy hitters including former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, former Lt. Governor of Massachusetts Kerry Healey and former CEO Carly Fiorina on it's national advisory board. Wives of Romney's GOP primary opponents including Callista Gingrich, Karen Santorum, Mary Pawlenty and Anita Perry will also be reaching out to women on behalf of the campaign.

This annoucement by the Romney campaign comes as President Obama is expected to speak specifically to women in Denver tonight.
