National Taxpayer Union president John Berthoud died yesterday and I can't begin to tell you what a loss everyone that knew him must be feeling. In a town with so much thirst for power, money, and influence, John Berthoud was a genuine man. He spent his the past decade fiercly working to protect the interests of the taxpayer but he was also a mentor to many. He never stopped thinking about nurturing the next group of conservative leaders and was never too busy to share some advice or lend a helping hand. Most Americans have never heard of John Berthoud but we should all thank him for spending a little bit of his short life looking out for our pocketbooks. The entire Townhall.com team mourns the passing of John Berthoud and we offer our condolences to his family and close friends. A tremendous loss indeed.
