Fred Thompson's newly hired research director JT Mastranadi has stepped down after a week and a half on the job, out of concern that he hadn't found what he expected when he began to see what the Thompson campaign was all about.
Specifically, he found a team without a leader or a specific mission; as a researcher, he'd come to work each day and the campaign would ask him what they should be doing that day, instead of telling him what his job should be. Nobody's calling the shots, and there's no overarching vision for the direction of the non-campaign....
