Dear NAACP: I'll condemn racism at tea party rallies. Now, lets shrink our government.

I agree with Sarah Palin that the NAACP's resolution on tea party racism is “false and appalling.” I agree that the NAACP needs to grow up and get over race-baiting politics. But the tea party shouldn't buy into the race baiting either.

I'll condemn racists on the bus I ride to work just as quickly as I'll condemn racists at tea party rallies. That's because, in my experience, racists exist in equal numbers in both types of places. It's the NAACP's loss if they want to politicize the issue and only look for racism in one corner of our society -- the conservative grassroots. If that's what they're going to do, I'm going to shake my head, move on, and continue to lobby for the tea party principles of smaller government and lower taxes. I'm not going to waste my time trying to convince narrow minded political operatives that their agenda is ridiculous.
