Compulsive Liar: My Withheld Emails Were All Personal and the FBI Confirmed I Was Truthful

When I say this woman can't stop lying about her national security-endangering email scheme, I mean that literally. She cannot stop. In an interview with Denver's NBC affiliate, Mrs. Clinton began by repeating the Obama administration's ludicrous official line about January's hostages-for-cash quid pro quo transaction, then proceeded to tell three lies about her email scandal in the span of just over a minute. Video first, then we'll skewer the untruths, which she relays effortlessly and without a hint of shame (the email exchange starts around the 3:25 mark):

(1) Comparing my withheld emails to Trump's withheld taxes is "apples to oranges." That statement isn't a lie unto itself; it is an apples to oranges comparison.  But as Allahpundit explains, her narrowly accurate assertion is rooted in a much bigger lie:

Setting up a private email server to evade government oversight and then deleting its contents haphazardly to sidestep public accountability is apples-and-oranges compared to someone declining to voluntarily release their private tax returns, but it ain’t because the latter is worse. Trump is still a private citizen, under no legal obligation to disclose his finances; if you have a problem with him refusing to do that, you’re free to punish him by withholding your vote in November. Clinton was the country’s top diplomat, subject to federal recordkeeping laws and legally obliged to handle classified material responsibly. She failed spectacularly, to the point where the head of the FBI had to give a press conference on national television all but accusing her of gross negligence in violation of 18 U.S.C. 793. Apples and oranges, just like the lady said.

She talks about how there's no precedent in modern American politics for a major party nominee refusing to release his or her tax returns. That's true, and Trump should make his public. He promised to do so during the primaries, then reversed course, relying on a bogus excuse to explain it away. He's hiding something. But what's more unprecedented and unacceptable is a Secretary of State who swore to protect the nation's secrets setting up a rules-violating and unsecure email server that compromised thousands of classified messages -- including top secret-and-above material. And disregarding explicit warnings that she was putting those secrets in danger. And making the official secure system more vulnerable to penetration in order to maintain her misconduct. And lying about all of it repeatedly.

(2) The emails she failed to turn over "was all personal stuff."  No, it was not.  Not even close. This is just a flagrant, disproven lie. Over to you, Director Comey:

"The FBI also discovered several thousand work-related e-mails that were not in the group of 30,000 that were returned by Secretary Clinton to State in 2014....With respect to the thousands of e-mails we found that were not among those produced to State, agencies have concluded that three of those were classified at the time they were sent or received, one at the Secret level and two at the Confidential level...The lawyers doing the sorting for Secretary Clinton in 2014 did not individually read the content of all of her e-mails, as we did for those available to us."

She and her lawyers withheld thousands of work-related emails, at least three of which were classified from the moment of origination.  And those were just among the ones the FBI was able to recover.  Tens of thousands of Hillary's virtual correspondences were permanently destroyed by Team Clinton, without any oversight.  According to Comey, "the lawyers cleaned their devices in such a way as to preclude complete forensic recovery."  We may never know what in those emails, but hostile foreign powers almost certainly do.

(3) "As the FBI said, everything I've said publicly has been consistent and truthful." She's trotting this whopper out again. She test drove a version of the exact same line with Chris Wallace over the weekend, earning 'Four Pinocchios' from the Washington Post and a "Pants on Fire" smack from left-leaning Politifact. She is deliberately, knowingly lying. And she doesn't care.
