Video: Occupiers Observe "Moment of Silence and Solidarity" for Accused White House Shooter

It's been reported that the mentally ill individual who shot at the White House yesterday (and managed to hit a window) spent time at Occupy DC.  His apparent motive: Hatred for President Obama. (It seems he missed the memo that the president is currently in Asia, which -- incidentally -- does not include Hawaii).  At Occupy San Diego last night, participants observed a "moment of silence and solidarity" with the man who tried to kill the President of the United States (via Verum Serum):

These clowns evidently wanted to contemplate why he "felt the need to shoot the White House."  Deep, deep thoughts.  It goes without saying that if a Tea Partier had taken a shot at the White House, the left/media complex would currently executing an outrage meltdown, the likes of which we haven't seen since, well, they dishonestly tried to blame conservatives for the Giffords shooting.  If a Tea Party group had then chosen to express solidarity with the shooter, it would be game over.  I really believe we'd see some people suggesting that we curb first amendment rights.  Jonah Goldberg put it best: "It took two years of MSM slander to demonize the tea parties. It took two months of OWS behavior, despite MSM whitewashing, to become unpopular."  How unpopular?

The Occupy Wall Street movement is not wearing well with voters across the country. Only 33% now say that they are supportive of its goals, compared to 45% who say they oppose them. That represents an 11 point shift in the wrong direction for the movement's support compared to a month ago when 35% of voters said they supported it and 36% were opposed. Most notably independents have gone from supporting Occupy Wall Street's goals 39/34, to opposing them 34/42. Voters don't care for the Tea Party either, with 42% saying they support its goals to 45% opposed.  But asked whether they have a higher opinion of the Tea Party or Occupy Wall Street movement the Tea Party wins out 43-37, representing a flip from last month

That's from Lefty pollster PPP, which laments public opinion shifting in the "wrong direction."  If anything, I'm amazed public opinion hasn't moved even more decisively against the Occupy crowd in light of vignettes like the one reported above, or incidents like this, this, and this.  It's almost as if the MSM isn't reporting on the two movements equally and fairly, or something.  I'll leave you with two clips.  The first is a reminder of just how nuanced and thoughtful the Occupy San Diego crowd is; the second shows a Northwestern University professor waxing lyrical about the prospect of the federal government seizing all private housing, and (voila!) turning it into public housing:

I love my alma mater, but they sometimes exhibit truly dreadful judgment in the realm of hiring faculty.

UPDATE - Violence erupts at Occupy Wall Street, as one police officer has reportedly been stabbed, and another hit in the head with a bottle.  Lefties on Twitter blame the cops, natch, with one labeling the NYPD "Bloomberg's secret army."  Good. Grief.

UPDATE II - The alleged shooter will be charged with attempted assassination, according to CNN.  Time for another moment of silence?
