Olbermann & Maher Compare Conservative Radio & TV To Terrorists, NAZI's & Fascists--But It's An Act!

Saturday night’s Real Time With Bill Maher was an all-leftist panel of 5: Bill Maher, Keith Olbermann, Kerry Washington (Actor/Activist), Andrew Ross Sorkin (columnist for the NYT) and Senator Bernie  Sanders. Sanders is labeled as an “Independent “ but his loyalty was no secret when Howard Dean stated on
MTP's May 22, 2005 show that "Bernie Sanders votes with the Democrats 98 percent of the time."

This was a fascinating segment because it highlights their hypocrisy in one show. You don't have to compare what they say with something they have said in the past. For example, Olbermann and Maher spend the entire segment ramping up charges that right-wing radio and television use hyperbole and fear to motivate their side. They say these news outlets are "not responsible." But in almost the same breath Olbermann and Maher compare the conservatives and conservative leaders in America to the Oklahoma City bomber Timothy McVeigh and Father Caughlin saying, "This is Father Caughlin on TV." For those of you who don't know, Father Caughlin's considered one of the first political talkers to take advantage of radio in the 1930s. Caughlin used it to spread Anti-Semitism and support Adolf Hitler and Fascist leader of Italy, Benito Mussolini.

Olbermann and Maher tie their points together at the end when they say these conservative nut-jobs are really just putting on an act: "These guys are just salesman because it's such a wonderful gold mine for them." If it is just an act does this abolish the argument that conservative news outlets are comparable to the Oklahoma City bomber and Nazi supporter Father Caughlin? Bottom line: Is this hyperbolic, il-informed, unthoughtful, irresponsible, and full-of-lies Kum Bay Yah gonna make anyone change their mind about powerful people such as these who support the Democrat party?
