Bush, who is 93 years old, was treated for a blood infection last month, just one day after his wife Barbara's funeral. The pair had been married for 73 years.
President Bush was in high spirits Saturday, when he greeted several veterans in Kennebunkport Maine to recognize Memorial Day.
Delighted to join the veterans, including my dear friend Gen. Brent Scowcroft, at the @AmericanLegion Post 159 monthly pancake breakfast in Kennebunkport today. This weekend we remember, and thank, all who have given their lives for our great country. pic.twitter.com/VQgfPmt5rw

Bush also recently made new friends with the cast of the hit Broadway musical "Hamilton." When the actors learned the 41st president had planned to see the show with his late wife in Houston, they surprised him with a private performance. He eventually got to see the whole show.
Finally had the chance yesterday to catch some new friends in action @HamiltonMusical -- properly attired in Hamilton socks, surrounded by family and friends, epic story and performance. Not a big hashtag man, but congratulations #HamFam!! pic.twitter.com/ZGvMGnqlOj
