A Culture of Death

There are good people -- people of conscience -- on both sides of the abortion debate.  There are pro-choicers who genuinely want abortion to be safe, legal and rare, or who personally oppose abortion but likewise oppose the government prohibiting it.

But there are also people like Alisa Laport Snow, a lobbyist representing the Florida Alliance of Planned Parenthood Affiliates, who appears in the video below.  In a shocking admission, she testifies that the decision to kill a baby born as the result of a botched abortion should be left to the baby's mother and her "health care provider".  Note the complete absence of any apparent discomfort at the prospect of post-birth abortion -- in other words, infanticide.

There can be no justification for this position.  If this woman does not lose her job -- and find herself widely condemned for her remarks -- it will be a sad day.  In a country where people are rightly stigmatized for their words when they are slurs directed at people of other races or gender, surely we can likewise muster some outrage at a woman (and most likely an organization) coolly open to the possibility of allowing newborn babies to suffer and die simply because their mothers didn't "want" them.

This video shocks the conscience.
