Perhaps my favorite moment of the morning was when Senator John McCain reminded President Obama of some of his campaign promises.  The President's response?

We're not campaigning anymore, John. The election is over.

Oh, now I get it.   The President sees his campaign promises as simple vehicles to election -- not as commitments to be taken seriously once the office is won.

I'll bet that a lot of people who took seriously his oratory about transparency, bipartisanship, openness, an individual mandate (and so much, much more) wish he'd made it clear he wasn't really serious about any of it.  It was just campaigning, don't you know?
