Andrew Gillum, the far-left Democratic candidate in the Florida gubernatorial race, took back his concession to Republican Rep. Ron DeSantis last week when DeSantis’s lead over him narrowed enough to allow a recount after votes came in from Broward and Palm Beach counties.
The manner in which those counties have been counting votes has been heavily scrutinized as officials in both counties ignored a court order to comply with public records requests. Broward county elections supervisor Brenda Snipes was also caught mixing more than a dozen rejected ballots with nearly 200 valid ones.
Nevertheless, Gillum sparred with Trump on Twitter Monday accusing the president of sounding nervous over the recount when he questioned the validity of the counting methods.
Gillum once said he was told never to “wrestle with a pig” when it came to responding to Trump’s comments. However, in regards to the Florida race, Gillum has been participating in quite the back and forth with him.
He even went so far as to say Trump was embarrassing to democracy on Friday.
What’s embarrassing to democracy is not counting every vote — and you, of course.— Andrew Gillum (@AndrewGillum) November 9, 2018

President Trump has accused the Democrats of trying to "steal" two, key Florida races, the gubernatorial race and the Senate race between Republican Rick Scott and Democrat Bill Nelson.
Trying to STEAL two big elections in Florida! We are watching closely!— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) November 10, 2018
The Florida recount is underway and will be completed Thursday. Unofficially DeSantis leads Gillum by 0.41 percentage points.
