Trump Steals the Show: Officially Announces Carrier Jobs Deal

President-elect Donald Trump is doing what he said he would do.  During a tour and press conference at Carrier's industrial in Indianapolis, Indiana, Trump and Carrier executives made it clear that 1,000 Americans would retain their jobs here in the United States.

“We have negotiated an agreement with the incoming administration that we believe benefits our workers, the state of Indiana and our company,” Carrier said in a statement. “We are announcing today that Carrier will continue to manufacture gas furnaces in Indianapolis, in addition to retaining engineering and headquarters staff, preserving more than 1,000 jobs.”

“Today’s announcement is possible because the incoming Trump-Pence administration has emphasized to us its commitment to support the business community and create an improved, more competitive U.S. business climate. The incentives offered by the state were an important consideration,”Carrier went on to say.

In February, Carrier announced a decision to move their Indiana facility outside the United States and into Mexico.

When Trump heard this news, he immediately declared that he would keep Carrier in the United States if elected president.

Trump has done just that.
