UPDATE: Three female hostages were killed today as a gunman wearing body armor took control of California's largest veteran's home. The hostage situation began around 10:30 AM PT and lasted over 8 hours. It culminated in the gunman being killed. It is unclear if he shot himself, or if he was killed by police officers.
