Comedian Kathy Griffin's seems to have done the impossible: she's united the U.S. against her tasteless photograph holding the bloodied dismembered head of President Donald Trump. Since the photo was posted by TMZ, people as politically different as Mitt Romney and Chelsea Clinton have condemned the image--and the Secret Service has said that they're aware of the threat.
Our politics have become too base, too low, & too vulgar, but Kathy Griffin's post descends into an even more repugnant & vile territory.— Mitt Romney (@MittRomney) May 30, 2017
This is vile and wrong. It is never funny to joke about killing a president. https://t.co/zIiuKoMyFw— Chelsea Clinton (@ChelseaClinton) May 30, 2017
Nope. Too much. By a very long distance, way too much. https://t.co/I9977nKEAP— Keith Olbermann (@KeithOlbermann) May 30, 2017
This Kathy Griffin thing is so upsetting and disgusting. Jesus--what is wrong with people today? Have we lost all our humanity?— Soledad O'Brien (@soledadobrien) May 30, 2017
If @kathygriffin wanted to shock people, she should actually be funny.— Jenna Jameson (@jennajameson) May 30, 2017
I think Trump is a DISASTER as both a President and a human being.— Mikel Jollett (@Mikel_Jollett) May 30, 2017
I also think that Kathy Griffin photo is horrible and wrong.
Good. I'm glad people are stepping up to condemn this completely unacceptable rhetoric. It has no place in American politics, even if it is Constitutionally protected. It wouldn't be okay if it were a conservative doing this to a Democrat, either.
