Evangelical leads ahead of Costa Rica presidential election runoff

SAN JOSE (Reuters) - Evangelical Christian Fabricio Alvarado Munoz is leading ahead of Costa Rica's second-round presidential election with 57.35 percent of the vote, according to a poll published on Friday.

In the April 1 vote, the controversial religious singer and former journalist will face former center-left minister Carlos Alvarado Quesada, who has 42.65 percent of the vote, according to a poll by OPol Consultores taken between Feb. 8 and 9.
