PARIS (AP) — An apparent accidental gas explosion Friday tore through an apartment building near the train station in the eastern French city of Dijon Friday, injuring at least 14 people, authorities said.
Interior Minister Bernard Cazeneuve said in a statement that rescuers pulled two seriously injured people from the collapsed building and 12 others sustained light injuries. He said firefighters were still searching the ruins of the building for other possible victims.
Dijon Mayor Francois Rebsamen said on BFM and i-Tele television that witnesses described a strong odor of gas and described it as an apparent domestic accident. He said it was "not an attack."
