FLORENCE, Italy (AP) — Italian investigators hope an autopsy will pinpoint the time of death of an American woman whose slain body was found in her rented Florence apartment.
The autopsy was scheduled to begin later on Monday. Results could take a day or two.
Police have questioned those who knew Ashley Olsen, 35, who had been living in the Tuscan city renowned for its Renaissance art treasures for about three years.
Authorities say the woman's neck was scratched and bruised, a possible indication of strangulation.
Police have questioned Olsen's friends, including the Italian boyfriend who asked the apartment owner to open the door Saturday because, he said, he hadn't heard from her in a few days. Olsen was found dead inside.
Local news reports said Olsen went to a Florence nightclub late Thursday.
