GENEVA (AP) — The Swiss public broadcaster is reporting that two men of Syrian origin have been arrested in Geneva with traces of explosives found in their vehicle.
Broadcaster RTS reports on its Web site Friday that it was not clear whether the two men had any connection with the four suspects with alleged ties to the extremist Islamic State group that Geneva authorities have been hunting in the region.
The report, which did not cite a source, said police declined to indicate where the vehicle was stopped.
Geneva security department spokeswoman Emmanuelle Lo Verso declined to comment on the RTS report, deferring to judicial officials handling an investigation. A spokesman for the city prosecutor's office did not immediately respond to calls and a text seeking comment.
