COPENHAGEN, Denmark (AP) — Swedish officials say a teacher who was wounded when a sword-wielding man with racist motives rampaged through a school in southern Sweden in October has died, bringing the death toll to three.
Annika Wennerblom, administrative head of the Trollhattan city where the Oct. 22 stabbing took place, says 42-year-old Nazir Amso died Thursday evening.
Wennerblom said Friday he had been seriously wounded by 21-year-old Anton Lundin Pettersson, the masked attacker who was fatally shot by police.
Lundin Pettersson stabbed four people, of whom three died. The attack was labeled as a racist hate crime with police saying he methodically selected dark-skinned victims at Kronan school, where most students are foreign-born.
