SAO PAULO (AP) — Police found more than two tons (1,930 kilograms) of marijuana inside a trailer truck parked on the grounds of a samba school in the city of Sao Paulo, Brazilian officials said Sunday.

Two men were detained near midnight Saturday as they unloaded packages of pot from the tractor trailer parked in the courtyard of the organization.

The school was used as the distribution point for drugs coming from the neighboring state of Mato Grosso do Sul, police said.

The samba school is one of several that decorate floats and practice dance lessons for Carnival, largely creating a sense of a community in Brazil's cities. Leaders of the school could not be reached for comment, and officials hadn't yet talked to staff of the organization.
