TOKYO (AP) — In a story Dec. 27, The Associated Press reported that the governor of Okinawa, Japan, approved land reclamation for a new U.S. military base. The new air base will be an extension of an existing military camp, including two runways largely on reclaimed land in the surrounding waters.
