KINGSTON, Jamaica (AP) — The publicist for Puerto Rican reggaeton stars Wisin & Yandel says the Grammy-winning duo has no intention of breaking up, dismissing comments made by another performer that the pair were splitting.
In a Sunday phone interview, Miami-based publicist Jennifer Nieman said Wisin & Yandel are "not breaking up." She says they remain a "solid and intact duo."
At a Friday show in Puerto Rico, reggaeton singer Don Omar spoke of Yandel's "new facet as a solo performer" while bringing him on stage. Yandel's real name is Llandel Veguilla Malave, and his singing partner is Juan Luis Morera Luna.
But Nieman says Wisin & Yandel have each done solo projects through the years and this has never led to a breakup.
She says the duo has concerts booked "months down the line" and several endorsement deals.
