LONDON (AP) — An English coroner is being asked to decide why a man was in the chimney of a law firm where he was found dead.
Police in Derbyshire in central England refused to comment Friday on speculation that 42-year-old Kevin Gough got stuck during an attempted burglary. Police indicated, however, that there was no suspicion that anyone else was responsible for the death.
The coroner's inquest was opening later in the day in Derby, 130 miles (210 kms) northwest of London.
The body was found earlier this week during remodeling work at Moody & Woolley Solicitors. The man apparently had died several weeks ago.
Martina Longworth, a partner at the law firm, said "our sympathy goes out to the man and his family and friends."
