KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia (AP) — Police say a Malaysian tanker docked at a jetty on Borneo island has exploded after being struck by lightning, killing one crew member. Four others are still missing.
District police chief Simon Karsan says the tanker was carrying methanol gas and was docked at a jetty on Labuan island when a fire broke out early Thursday. The tanker belonged to the national shipping company MISC.
He says the fire has been brought under control but hasn't been put out yet. He says authorities have recovered one body but are still searching for another four missing crew members.
