SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico (AP) — Four people have died in Puerto Rico during a couple of drive-by shootings that police say are connected.
Police say three people were shot in front of a tire repair shop while a fourth was shot in front of his house. No suspects have been arrested, and police have not provided a motive.
The shootings occurred Tuesday in the northern mountain town of Gurabo.
Police say 539 people have been killed this year, compared to 651 in the same period last year, when the U.S. territory reported a record 1,117 homicides.
