Glittering carriages. Gun salutes. Naval escorts.
Buckingham Palace and the military have released details on the pomp and pageantry on the central weekend celebrating Queen Elizabeth II's Diamond Jubilee, and it features much of what makes Britain so famous for state occasions.
The King's Troop Royal Horse Artillery will perform a 60-gun salute, and the navy will dispatch several vessels, including one featuring a band of Royal Marines.
Prince William and the former Kate Middleton, now the Duchess of Cambridge, will join the monarch for a glittering carriage procession _ the first such ride since their marriage last year.
The events described Thursday will be the high point of the jubilee weekend on June 2-5, marking the queen's 60 year reign.
