In stories on March 17 and March 18, The Associated Press inaccurately reported the day on which a Chilean diplomat's daughter was shot by police. Authorities say she was shot and killed on the night of Friday, March 16, not early Saturday as some authorities initially reported. Some versions of the story on March 18 also inaccurately reported the year for which the government has said the murder rate was 48 homicides for every 100,000 inhabitants. Officials have given that statistic for 2010, not 2011.
