An accident at a small coal mine in Colombia has killed at least four miners and five others are still missing.
The regional coordinator for the government disaster agency reports that four bodies have been spotted in the mine named "El Desespero," which translates as "Desperation."
Gilberto Mazo says rescuers are hunting Thursday for five other miners trapped by the accident, but finding them alive "is not very likely."
The official mining institute reports that the accident occurred at 3:55 p.m. (2055 GMT) Wednesday when miners hit a source of water that flooded and collapsed the mine. It is about 150 miles (245 kilometers) northwest of the capital, Bogota.
