A powerful gust of wind has flipped over a small plane trying to land at an airport in Puerto Rico. Authorities say the four people on board survived with only minor injuries.
A police statement says the Cessna 172 was blown off course Sunday as it approached a runway and landed upside down on a grassy area at the Eugenio Maria de Hostos Airport in the western city of Mayaguez.
The flight originated from the nearby city of Arecibo in the U.S. Caribbean territory.
Police say paramedics treated the two passengers for minor abrasions. The two pilots had scrapes.
Aviation officials are investigating.
