Lebanese security officials say an American man found dead in a remote mountainous area fell while climbing.
The family of the 33-year-old John Redwine says he died Sunday "doing what he loved, alpine climbing in the Lebanon Mountains." The family said his death was the result of an accident.
His body was found Tuesday in the central region of Sannine, three days after he went missing.
The family said Wednesday that Redwine had been living in Beirut and working in public relations and communications. It said he had also worked as a freelance producer at Fox News and desk editor at ABC News.
Redwine was from Sioux City, Iowa.
The security officials spoke on condition of anonymity in line with regulations.
